The Ravensbourne School Wins £1000 worth of books

The children and staff at The Ravensbourne School are celebrating after winning a prize worth £1000 for doing one of their favourite things … reading books.

We were one of ten schools chosen by the Siobhan Dowd Trust to win their ‘Spread the Joy of Reading’ competition.  The competition was launched to find schools with the most vibrant and lively school libraries and the most imaginative ideas to encourage reading for pleasure.

There will be a big launch of the books we have won in January.

To find out more about the activities that won us the prize, log on to http://www.siobhandowdtrust.com.  Siobhan Dowd wrote four outstanding novels for young people, between 2004 and 2007, all of which have won awards.
