Cruella

Cruella, the film starring Emma Stone, is out in cinemas today.  Why not get up to speed on all things by Cruella by reading The One Hundred and One Dalmatians by Dodie Smith, or the sequel Starlight Barking?  Alternatively you could dip into Paws and Whiskersedited by one of our favourite authors Jacqueline Wilson, which includes extracts from the very best stories about cats and dogs, including from The One Hundred and One Dalmatians.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

So sad to hear of the death of Eric Carle.  He was the creator of many well loved picture books including of course the very popular The Very Hungry Caterpillarwhich many of our students will have grown up on.

How I Learned to Understand the World by Hans Rosling

We were very excited to discover that Hans Rosling's book 'How I Learned to Understand the World' is being serialised on BBC Radio 4.

This book fits in so well with our focus on Geography.  You may also be interested in the fantastic guest blog post, back in June 2020, on Rosling's fascinating book 'Factfulness'.

Geofiction week 3

We are really pleased to be working with our Geography department colleagues on their GeoFiction project.  Together we have created reading lists of books which make links with some of the topics covered in our Geography lessons.  You might just want to read these lovely books for the pleasure of it too.

We will be publishing a reading list each week for three weeks.
