Books into Film in 2022

A new Peter Pan film for 2022 starring Yara Shahidi and Jude Law.

Read the book by J M Barrie first.

The film of the School of Good and Evil series was expected in 2017, you never know 2022 might be the year!

You can expect yet another remake of Pinocchio.

And an animated Diary of a Wimpy Kid, which makes sense because Greg was originally just a badly drawn boy!

Crisis at Christmas 2021

Thousands of people will be homeless this Christmas.

Each year, some of the staff at TRS choose to make a donation to Crisis instead of sending Christmas cards.  This year (after some late donations) the total raised was £225.  This will reserve more than seven places for homeless people this Christmas.

Crisis is a charity which offers shelter, companionship and life-changing services to people who are homeless.  To find out more visit the Crisis website.

Recycle, reuse, renew

We have seven of these very useful book display racks, but they were looking a bit tired.

We were thinking of the environment and did not want to throw them out, so decided to strip them, with the help of some of our amazing colleagues.

And then our wonderful site team spray painted them for us in this lovely copper colour.  A special thanks to Benjamin C and Reece H.

So remember folks .... wherever you can recycle, reuse, renew!

Sad to hear of the death of much loved children's author Jill Murphy.  We know many of our current students will have grown up with her wonderful stories.  Most well known for her tales about the Large Family of adorable elephants and of course the Worst Witch.

Watch this lovely video where Jill talks about the writing process.
