Black History Month 2025
October is Black History Month, a time to recognise and celebrate the stories, creativity, and achievements of Black people past and present.
Our library display this month showcases a diverse range of books by Black authors and about Black history, identity, and culture. From inspiring biographies like The Life of Stephen Lawrence to powerful fiction such as The Haunting of Tyrese Walker and Black and British. These stories invite readers to explore new perspectives, reflect on history, and celebrate voices that continue to shape our world today.
These books are available in the library all year round, but we’re especially proud to spotlight them this month. We recognise that our collection is still growing in its representation, and we’re always researching new stories to include, so if you have any recommendations, we’d love to hear them.
