London Book & Screen Week 2020

READ * WATCH * CONNECT

9 - 15 March 2020 marks London Book & Screen Week.

The beginning of the new decade brought with it some fantastic new book-to-screen adaptations which stormed the TV and film charts. London Book & Screen Week celebrates films that made it as books first, including 'Little Women', 'His Dark Materials' and 'How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World'.

World Book Day fun 2020

Some of the staff at The Ravensbourne School got into the World Book Day spirit and dressed up as their favourite characters.

Can you work out which teachers they are and which characters they chose to be?

Mary Poppins dropped in later ....

and a few other characters popped into the Library.

Be my Valentime

πŸ’“It is thought that the custom of choosing a ‘valentine’ on the 14th of February probably came from the belief, in the 14th Century, that birds choose their mate on that date.
Chaucer’s poem ‘ Parliament of Fowls’ in which he describes a group of birds that gather together in early spring, on Valentine’s day, sparked a tradition that St Valentine’s day represents a day of finding a mate. πŸ’“

Why not find a good book to fall in love with
 on Valentines day??

🎬It is Bafta and Oscar time again,
