With the
award season in full swing and the Academy Awards 2014 due to be announced at
the Oscars ceremony on Sunday, we have put together a
display of books that have been made into films. If you liked the film why not read the book!
Come and browse and borrow from our display in the War Memorial Library. Great reads to look out for include The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen

and The Railway Man by Eric Lomax.

Award Winning Performance Poet, Adisa, to visit TRS
We are pleased to announce that the amazing performance poet, Adisa will be coming into the school this Thursday, 27th February.
Winner of the Apples & Snakes New Performance Poet of the Year award, Adisa will be performing some of his poetry for groups of Year 9 students. He will also be working with the children to help them create their own performance poems in two poetry workshops.
Adisa has visited the school before and we are very much looking forward to welcoming him back again!
Unfortunately, due to unforseen circumstances, this visit was unable to take place.

500 words competition 2014
The BBC 500 words competition is open to anyone aged 13 or
under. To enter you simply need to write
a fictional short story of no more than 500 words.
