The books
on this year’s Waterstones Children's Book prize shortlist have been described by Waterstones as “guiding light
of optimism in the face of uncertain times”, with many of the novels seeking to
reassure older readers and allow discussion of difficult issues with younger
readers.
There are
three categories, illustrated books, younger fiction and older fiction and the
overall winner of the prize will be announced on 30th March.
You will
find some of the titles on the shortlist in the Discovery and War Memorial
Libraries, including Time Travelling with
a Hamster by Ross Welford.
