Man Booker Prize 2017 - long list announced

The Man Booker Prize is awarded for fiction and is open to authors writing in English regardless of their nationality.  

The long list, or Man Booker dozen, includes established and debut writers:

4321 by Paul Auster
Days Without End by Sebastian Barry
History of Wolves by Emily Fridlund
Exit West by Mohsin Hamid
Solar Bones by Mike McCormack
Resevoir 13 by Jon McGregor
Elmet by Fiona Mozley
The Ministry of Utmost Happiness by Arundhati Roy
Lincoln in Bardo by George Saunders
Home Fire by Kamila Shamsie
Autumn by Ali Smith
Swing Time by Zadie Smith
The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead

The shortlist will be announced on 13th September and the winner on the 17th October.  Previous Man Booker Prize shortlisted and winning novels are available to borrow from the War Memorial Library.
