CILIP Carnegie and Greenaway Long lists 2018 Announced

The Carnegie and Greenaway long lists were announced on 15th February.  The Carnegie list includes a mix of debut novels, including Angie Thomas's The Hate U Give, and previous nominees such as Patrick Ness, David Almond, Geraldine McCaughrean and Philip Reeve.

The short lists are announced on 15th March 2018 and shadowing begins on 16th March 2018!  At TRS, we are really looking forward to taking part in the Carnegie Shadowing Scheme again this year with our Year 8 students.

CILIP's Carnegie Medal is awarded each year for an outstanding book for children and young people as part of the Carnegie and Greenaway Children's Book Awards.  The Shadowing Scheme is an opportunity to 'shadow' the judging process for the Carnegie Medal.  This involves reading, discussing and reviewing the eight shortlisted titles.  The medal winners are announced on 18th June 2018.
