The Blue Peter Book Awards, in association with The Book Trust, celebrate children's books and recognise the best authors and illustrators. Started in 2000, the Awards are given to best story and best book with facts.
Short-listed for best story are:
- The Astounding Broccoli Boy by Frank Cottrell Boyce
- The Boy Who Sailed the Ocean in an Armchair by Lara Williamson
- The Nowhere Emporium by Ross MacKenzie
Best book with facts:
- The Silly Book of Weird and Wacky Words by Andy Seed and Scott Garrett
- Factfeed by Penny Arlon
- The Epic Book of Epicness written and illustrated by Adam Frost.
The winners will be voted for by 200 school children from 10 schools and announced on Blue Peter on World Book Day on 3rd March.
