Writing Competitions - 500 Words and Write It 2018!

The BBC Radio 2 500 words story writing competition is back!  It is open to anyone aged 13 or under.  To enter you simply need to write an original short story of no more than 500 words about anything you like and submit your story online!

Get your entries in by 7 pm on Thursday, 22nd February.  Prizes include Chris Evan’s height (6ft 2”) in books plus this year the winners will get to ride in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and take tea on the River Thames on the Queen’s royal barge Gloriana.

Write It 2018

Do you love food and enjoy writing?  If yes, why not enter the Write It 2018 competition, run by the Guild of Food Writers and Pink Lady Apples?

To celebrate 10 years of the competition, you are invited to write a story of between 500 and 750 words on the theme of food and celebration.  The competition is open to young people aged between 11 and 18 years and the closing date for entries is 30th April.  If your story is chosen, you will be named Guild of Food Writers Young Food Writer of the Year and win prizes that money cannot buy!
