UK Children's Authors Unite Against Plastic Pollution in our Oceans

Author, Lauren St John, has brought together fifty leading illustrators and authors to call for publishers, book shops, literary festivals and young readers to reduce the amount of plastic they use in favour of eco-friendly alternatives.

Following David Attenborough’s Blue Planet II programme on plastic waste last year, in which he revealed that plastic will outnumber fish in the oceans by 2050, Authors4Oceans asks you to ‘be the change you want to see in the seas’.

Their top tips to help you make the difference in conserving and protecting our seas and oceans and the wildlife that live there include ditching plastic bags, straws and bottles and eating only sustainable fish. To find out more click here.

Books by Lauren St John, and the other authors and illustrators that have pledged their support for the campaign, including Jacqueline Wilson, Michael Morpurgo and Chris Riddell, are available to borrow from the Discovery Library.
