Waterstones Children's Book Prize 2018


The acclaimed debut novel by Angie Thomas, The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas has won the overall winner of the Waterstones Children's Book Prize 2018.

Also nominated on the shortlist for the Carnegie Children's Book Award, the novel, inspired by the black lives matter campaign and set in America, follows the story of a teenager, Starr, who having witnessed the fatal shooting of her friend by a white police officer, is drawn into campaigning for justice.


The Hate U Give is available to borrow from the War Memorial Library.
