February is LBGT
history month. This year's theme is Peace and
Reconciliation. Over the coming weeks, Miss Barker will be hosting
screenings of films celebrating LGBT history and diverse sexuality and gender
identities for students at lunchtime.
Posters featuring prominent
LGBT personalities across a variety of fields, including music, English, IT,
will be displayed around the school.
In the War Memorial Library, we have
lots of great YA fiction and classic novels by celebrated LGBT authors,
including Juno Dawson, Patrick Ness, Cat Clarke and Oscar Wilde for you to
borrow and browse. Check out our display in the Discovery Library too,
which includes a copy of From Prejudice to Pride: A History of the
LGBTQ+ Movement by Amy Lamé, one of the winners of the SLA Information Book Awards 2018.
